(Orem, Utah - Aug. 29, 2026) - The Trailblazers wrapped up the Utah Valley Invitational on Saturday afternoon being swept by Utah at Lockhart Arena.
Utah Tech (2-1) battled tough against the Utes who took sets, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.
Led for a third straight match in kills by senior opposite hitter
Nana Asiata with nine, the pair of
Tessa Treanor and
Shaylee Dahle added five kills apiece.
Treanor along with senior libero
Mya Laufiso tallied a team-high 10 digs apiece while Treanor led the team with four service aces.
Junior middle blocker
Lusia Langi had a team-best five blocks and senior setter
Marley Roe led the Trailblazers with 15 assists.
How It Happened
Utah (2-0) raced out to a 6-1 lead in the opening set, but a 10-5 run for the Trailblazers locked up the set at 11 after a kill by Langi.
A service ace by Dahle tied the set at 18, but the Utes closed out the set on a 7-2 run to take the set, 25-20.
Utah jumped ahead 11-8 in the second set with the Trailblazers answering back with a 6-0 run, finished off by a kill by Roe, to go up 14-11.
With the Trailblazers continuing to lead 19-18 after a kill by Asiata, the Utes closed out the set on a 7-3 run to comeback for a 25-22 win to take a two-set lead.
The third set saw the teams trade points back and forth with the Utes leading 19-16. The Trailblazers answered back with a 6-0 run, highlighted by three service aces, to push UT in front, 22-19.
Three straight points from Utah tied the set at 22 and after a service error by the Utes gave the Trailblazers their final lead of the match, Utah closed out the set with three straight kills to complete the sweep.

The Trailblazers head to Hawaii next week for the OUTRIGGER Invitational to take on host Hawaii on Thursday, UC San Diego on Friday and Loyola Marymount on Sept. 6 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
