Utah Tech vaulted up one spot into sixth place on moving day at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch Dye Course in McKinney, Texas.
After opening with a 22-over par 310 on Monday, the Trailblazers improved by 18 shots on their second loop.Â

Utah Tech (310-292) combined to fire a 4-over par 292 on Tuesday, which was the second-lowest team total of the day, to pass Southern Utah (303-307-610; +34) on the team leaderboard a plus-26 602.Â

Tarleton State (298-288) posted the low round of the day with an even par 288 to move into the 36-hole lead at plus-10 586, two shots clear of second place UT Arlington (292-296-588; +12).Â

Abilene Christian (295-296-591; +15) is five shots off the pace in third place, followed by California Baptist (302-293-595; +19) in fourth, and Utah Valley (303-294-597; +21) in fifth.Â

Redshirt junior
Braden Anderson (82-71) helped lead the Blazers' charge on Tuesday as he fired a Utah Tech career-low 1-under 71. He bettered his opening round score by 11 shots, which propelled him up him up nine spots on the leaderboard into t-23
rd place at plus-9 153.Â

Anderson's round included an even par 36 on his back nine and four total birdies on his scorecard.Â

Freshman
David Liechty (78-72) bounced back from an opening 6-over 78 with an even par 72 on Tuesday. Liechty went out in 3-under 33 and penciled in four birdies on his card, which helped him vault 12 spots up the board into a solo 13
th place at plus-6 150.Â

Fellow freshman
Joe Zhou (84-73) also enjoyed a solid day as he rolled in five birdies as part of a second round 1-over 73. Zhou improved by 11 strokes on day as he moved into a tie for 29
th place at plus-13 157.

Meanwhile, junior
Ashton McArthur (75-76) collected a pair of birdies on his back nine on Tuesday on his way to a 4-over 76. McArthur ended the day in a seven-way tie for 14
th-place at plus-7 151.Â

Frank Miao recorded a pair of birdies of his own during his second round, which he finished at 6-over 78, as he joined Anderson and one other in a tie for 23
rd at plus-9 153.Â
Utah Tech will look to continue its climb up the leaderboard in Wednesday's final round beginning at 7 a.m. (MT).Â
