Utah Tech stands in seventh place after the first round of play at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships on Monday at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch Dye Course in McKinney, Texas.
The Trailblazers opened with a 22-over par 310, seven strokes back of both Utah Valley (303; +15) and Southern Utah (303; +15) which are both tied for fifth place after round one.

UT Arlington sits atop the leaderboard at plus-4 292, three shots ahead of second place Abilene Christian (295, +7). Tarleton State (298; +10) is six shots off the pace in third place, and California Baptist (302; +14) stands in fourth place.Â

Frank Miao and junior
Ashton McArthur paced the Trailblazers on Monday with matching 3-over 75s to join five others tied for 10
th place. Miao rolled in a team-high five birdies on his opening loop, four of which came on his front nine as he went out in even par 36.

Meanwhile McArthur penciled in a pair of birdies 12 pars on his opening scorecard.Â

David Liechty also carded two birdies as part of a 6-over 78 to stand in two-way tie for 25
th. Junior
Braden Anderson follows in t-32
