Utah Tech redshirt senior guard
Kaylee Borden was named Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week on Monday.

Borden, who is a now a three-time WAC Newcomer of the Week honoree (11/24/25; 2/23/26), led all scorers with 24 points in the Trailblazers' 71-59 regular season-ending road loss at Utah Valley last Saturday afternoon in Orem.Â

Borden shot 9-of-20 from the floor with a career-high six 3-pointers (6-of-12). In addition, the senior guard just missed her second double-double of the year as she finished with a game-high nine rebounds along with four assists and two steals, and played in all 40 minutes of the game.

Borden closed the 2025-26 regular season as the WAC's second-leading scorer (15.9 ppg), and is currently ranked in the conference's top-20 in made 3-pointers (4
th – 1.82 3fgm/game), field goal percentage (5
th - .408), assists (8
th - 2.64 apg), and rebounding (19
th – 4.43 rpg).

Utah Tech is currently preparing for its final "WAC Vegas" appearance as the No. 7-seeded Trailblazers will square off against No. 6-seed UT Arlington in the opening round of the 2026 WAC Women's Basketball Tournament.Â

That match-up will take place this Wednesday afternoon, March 11, at 3 p.m. (PT), inside the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
