(St. George, Utah - March 1, 2026) - The Trailblazers wrapped up the Beehive Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout over Utah State at Karl Brooks Field.
Utah Tech (8-11), who won its final two games of the Beehive Classic, earned its first shutout of the season and first in exactly a year as the last time the Trailblazers blanked an opponent came on March 1, 2025 in a 6-0 win over Cal Poly at the Louisville Slugger Invitational hosted by Long Beach State.
Senior hurler
Sauren Garton tossed her first complete game of the season and limited Utah State (10-10) to three hits and no runs while striking out three and walking none.
Offensively, the Trailblazers were led by a pair of two-hit performances from
Gabi Giroux and
Kinley Pappas who each tallied a single and double.
Giroux added a pair of RBI's and the Trailblazers also got one RBI apiece from Pappas and
Baylee Howley.
How It Happened
After a scoreless first two innings, the Trailblazers took care of all of their scoring on the afternoon in the third inning bringing home four runs.
The inning got started with a single back up the middle by
Drew McKown and she came around to score the game's first run with an RBI double to center by Pappas.
Two batters later, Giroux followed with a two-run RBI double to right-center bringing around
Sadie Phillips and Pappas.
The scoring wrapped up with an RBI single to left-center by Howley driving in Giroux to push UT ahead 4-0.
It was all Garton from there as the Aggies were held to a pair of singles over the final four innings.

The Trailblazers make the short trip to Las Vegas next week to take part in the UNLV Red and Black Classic taking on host UNLV (9-11) along with a pair of games against LMU (14-4) and NDSUÂ (11-8) Friday through Sunday.
