(St. George, Ut. - Feb. 14, 2026) – Utah Tech women's tennis defeated North Dakota, 4-3, this afternoon at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts to kick off a two-match homestand.

North Dakota (3-6, 0-0 Summit) came ready to play Saturday morning and took two doubles matches in commanding fashion where underclassmen Emma Roberts and Alyssa Giupponi shined in a 6-0 win. 

After losing the doubles point, Utah Tech (3-5, 0-0 WAC) came out roaring in singles play winning four straight matches to clinch the team victory. Coach Pelton was impressed with the team, saying "The girls responded and came out strong dominating singles play! So impressed with how hard these girls work!" 

Sophomore Nutsa Tsintsadze got things started in singles play, making quick work of her opponent 6-0 and 6-1. On the next court over, Trailblazer freshman Cameron Hendrix followed suit in making quick work of her Fighting Hawk opponent, winning 6-2 and 6-1. 

At singles match No. 1, Mariana Zurita Berdecio defeated North Dakota's Ethel Li in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-4. The Trailblazers then clinched the match against the Fighting Hawks when Maya Inouye defeated Alva Norberg 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 at singles No. 3. 

After the match was decided, North Dakota picked up the final two singles points in the tiebreaker to take a little momentum into their neutral site match tomorrow morning against Idaho State.
