Utah Tech opened its final season of United Athletic Conference play on the wrong end of a 42-10 road decision at No. 25/23 Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon at Fortera Stadium. 
 
The Trailblazers (1-4/0-1 UAC) found themselves in the 28-3 halftime hole after Austin Peay scored four first half touchdowns, three of which came in the span of eight minutes.
 
APSU (3-2/1-1 UAC) broke into the scoring column on a 1-yard Javious Bond dive with 2:15 to play in the opening quarter. The Governors went on to make a two-score game following a Chris Parson-to-Jaden Robinson 4-yard pass with a little more than 10 minutes to play in the second period.
 
Then on the ensuing kickoff, Utah Tech committed the only turnover of the game on the return, which set the Governors up at the Blazer 14 yard line. APSU cashed in the miscue three plays later when Parson found Shemar Kirk in the back of the end zone to extend the Govs' lead to 21-0.
 
The Trailblazers went up-tempo on offense when they got the ball back and proceeded to march 62 yards in 13 plays. However the drive stalled at the APSU 14 and Utah Tech had to settle for a 31-yard Ilya Uvaydov field goal with 2:57 to play in the first half.
 
Austin Peay struck again just before the halftime gun when Parson again connected with Kirk for a 30-yard touchdown strike, which gave the Governors' a 25-point cushion at the intermission.  
 
APSU added touchdowns to its tally in the each of the third and fourth quarters, while Utah Tech managed to find pay dirt late in the fourth quarter on a 3-yard Kona Crowell run to close out the scoring. 

Utah Tech was held to a season-low 237 yards of total offense on the afternoon. 
Redshirt junior quarterback Reggie Graff completed 16-of-27 of his passes for 143 yards, and led the Trailblazers with 43 yards rushing on 16 carries. Fellow junior Eric Olsen caught three passes for 46 yards to lead the receiving corps. 
 
On defense, freshman middle linebacker Daylen Love racked up a game-high nine tackles and accounted for one of Utah Tech's three tackles for loss. 
 
Parson finished with 204 yards on 18-for-25 passing and three touchdowns, and rushed for 82 more yards with one more score. 
 
Utah Tech wraps up the first half of the 2025 season next Saturday with the program's first-ever trip to "The Natural State" to square off against UAC foe Central Arkansas. Kickoff on the purple and gray turf at Estes Stadium in Conway is set for 3 p.m. (MT).
