(St. George - Sept. 14, 2025) – Utah Tech women's soccer battled to a 2-2 draw against Northern Arizona on Sunday afternoon at Greater Zion Stadium. Trailblazer senior goalkeeper
Brianna Frey earned a season-high seven saves in the effort.
NAU (3-1-4, 0-0-0 Big Sky) tallied the first shot on goal in the 13th minute. Lumberjack junior forward Micala Boex sent one down the middle, and Frey collected her first save.
Redshirt sophomore forward
Lataya Brost responded with the first Utah Tech (3-3-2, 0-0-0 WAC) shot on goal in the 16th minute. NAU freshman GK Reece Reichwald punched Brost's strong shot over the crossbar.
In the 22nd minute, 'Jack senior midfielder Avery Ott challenged Frey from distance, leading to her second save. Frey stood in the way of Boex's second shot on goal in the 24th minute.

Bre Koscielski sent one on frame toward the left post, which Reichwald saved in the 35th minute.
The Trailblazers broke the scoreless tie in the 43rd minute. Freshman forward
Jocelyn Wright crossed a ball toward the left side of the box, and junior forward
Ella Rusick volleyed it into the back of the net with her left foot. It was Rusick's first goal of the season and Wright's first career assist.
Out of the break, Frey made a stop of a low shot to her right post, thwarting Boex in the 46th minute.
Wright put a shot on target in the 48th minute, making Reichwald dive to her right post to make the save. Just over 20 seconds later, senior forward
Lacy Fox stole the ball back and buried a shot in the upper left corner of the net to extend UT's lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute.
The Lumberjacks struck back in the 51st minute. Boex crossed the ball to the left side of the box, and sophomore forward Valerie Llamas took a touch and beat Frey's dive to the left post. NAU junior forward Kristen Puels also assisted on the goal.
In the 61st minute, Frey scooped up a long ball in front of her net for another save.
Northern Arizona leveled the match in the 62nd minute. Boex and Llamas reversed roles as Llamas sent a through ball to Boex, who got it past Frey at the right post.
Boex nearly gave the 'Jacks the lead in the 67th minute. Frey protected her near post on a run of play that looked eerily similar to the last NAU goal.
Reichwald somehow survived a three-minute Trailblazer barrage starting in the 85th minute. From a corner kick, junior defender/midfielder
Nicole Choren's shot was saved by the right post. Koscielski's rebound shot to the left post got blocked by traffic. After a couple of blocked shots, junior defender
Michelle Rodriguez put a header on target, but Reichwald picked up a third save in that stretch to keep things tied.
Frey punched a shot by NAU freshman forward Kaylee Muniz up into the crossbar in the 87th minute. The Trailblazer defense blocked a secondary shot by Muniz to preserve the draw.
Northern Arizona outshot Utah Tech 19-15, with a 9-8 edge in shots on goal. The Trailblazers were tabbed with all four offside calls.
Utah Tech hosts another future conference mate in Portland State on Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George.
