Box Score (St. Paul, Minn. - Aug. 28, 2025) – Utah Tech men's soccer fell to St. Thomas, 2-1, on Thursday afternoon at South Field. Down a man for the final 27 minutes after a red card, the Trailblazers equalized but couldn't keep things tied in the closing minutes.

In the ninth minute, senior goalkeeper
Stockton Short defended his right post to save a shot by graduate midfielder Mathis Guffroy.
Sophomore midfielder
Dunes Nielsen used some fancy footwork to open a window for a curling left-footed shot in the 16th minute. Krenc stopped the Trailblazers' second shot on goal.
Off a Tommie free kick in the 31st minute, Short stayed in front of a shot by graduate forward Yanis Lakhlifi to earn his second save.
St. Thomas took the lead in the 36th minute. Junior midfielder Chance Therrien snuck a shot from the top of the box through traffic to the back of the net by the left post.

Redshirt freshman
Stetson Coy was shown his second yellow card in the 53rd minute, putting the Trailblazers down to 10 men.
With less than 15 minutes remaining, senior midfielder

After Short made a save in the 81st minute, UST developed another chance three minutes later. An unlucky clear went right to the Tommies, and Guffroy smashed a shot into the left upper 90 from a sharp angle to retake the lead in the 84th minute, 2-1.
Saucedo got off Utah Tech's final shot, a blocked attempt in the 89th minute.
St. Thomas held a 12-5 advantage in shots, with a 6-2 lead in shots on goal. Short finished with four saves, while Krenc totaled two.
