(Eugene, Ore. - July 30, 2025) - Utah Tech Cross Country assistant coach Josh Thompson is set to compete in the 1500 meters at the 2025 USA Track & Field Championships this week.

Held on Thursday through Sunday at Hayward Field in Eugene on the campus of the University of Oregon, Thompson will run in heat number one in the opening round of the 1500 meters on Thursday night at 7:10 p.m. MT.

The first and third heats will see 12 runners apiece with 11 runners in the second heat as all 35 competitors will look to qualify for the 1500 meters final set for Saturday at 3:14 p.m. MT.

Thompson enters his second season with the Trailblazers this fall and won five Big 12 titles and qualified for the NCAA Championships five times during his collegiate career at Oklahoma State.

He has gone on to run professionally with the Bowerman Track Club and earned silver in the 1500 meters at the 2022 USATF Indoor Track & Field Championship.
