Jon Judkins announced the signing of Dayton transfer guard Marvel Allen to a financial aid agreement ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season on Thursday.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Allen has spent the last two seasons at Atlantic 10 member Dayton where he has been sidelined by injury the last two seasons.
Prior to his time with the Flyers, Allen was a four-star Top 150 recruit in the Class of 2023 by Rivals.com and a Top 200 recruit by 247 Sports.
Over his five-year prep career, Allen played for four different programs getting his start as an eighth grader at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach before heading over to Wellington High School in West Palm Beach as a freshman.
His next two seasons saw him lead Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale to back-to-back 4A Florida State Championships in 2021 and 2022.
Helping the Eagles to a 26-2 overall record in 2022 as a junior, Allen averaged 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
His prep career wrapped up as a senior season attending Montverde Academy near Orlando where he played alongside projected 2025 NBA first round selections Cooper Flagg (Duke), Derick Queen (Maryland), Asa Newell (Georgia) and Liam McNeeley (UConn).
Finishing as the second-ranked team in the nation, Allen played in 10 contests for the Eagles averaging 11.4 minutes, 1.6 points. 1.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Allen is the seventh newcomer to the 2025-26 roster joining five previous spring signees and fall 2023 signee Tanner Davis.
