Utah Tech closed out its regular season tournament schedule with an eighth-place finish at the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Invitational, which was played on Monday and Tuesday at the Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta, Calif.
After opening with a solid 3-over par 291 on Monday morning, the Trailblazers combined to fire a 5-over 293 during their afternoon round to stand tied for seventh-overall at plus-8 584.Â

Utah Tech came back on Tuesday and carded another 293, but wound up dropping down one spot on the team leaderboard to eighth at plus-13 877, one stroke behind seventh place San Francisco (289-294-293-876; +12) and three shots clear of ninth place Utah State (287-297-296-880; +16).Â

Boise State (284-275-282) blistered the course, combining to post a 23-under 841 to claim the team title by 21 strokes over runner-up Denver (291-288-283-862; -2).

Junior
Tanner Telford led the Trailblazer effort as he posted his fifth-straight, top-20 finish, and his sixth top-20 showing of the season overall. Telford played steady throughout the three rounds, carding a pair of 1-over 73s that bookended a second round 1-under 71 to finish in a four-way tie for 16
th at plus-1 217.Â

Fellow junior
Zach Felts was also solid as he recorded a solo-20
th place finish at plus-2 218. Felts fired Utah Tech's low-round of the event with an opening 2-under 70, which he chased with an even-par 72 on Monday afternoon. The junior then closed with a 4-over 76, which clinched him his third top-20 of the spring season.

KJ Ofahengaue rallied after rounds of 2-over 74 and 76 with a 72 on Tuesday to finish in a five-way tie for 36
th at plus-6 222. Ofahengaue was joined teammate
Frank Miao (73-74-75), who also posted a plus-6 222 playing as an individual.

Jackson Rhees recorded consecutive 74s, followed by a final round 76 en route to a solo 44
thplace showing at plus-8 224, and fellow sophomore
Ashton McArthur (78-77-72) rebounded from a tough Monday with a final round 72 to vault five spots into t-49
th at plus-11 227.
Utah Tech will now get ready to tee it up at the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships, which will be held April 25-27, at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines in Payson, Ariz.
