(St. George, Utah - April 18, 2025) - The Trailblazers dropped a doubleheader to California Baptist at home on Friday afternoon falling 10-3 in game one and 7-3 in game two at Karl Brooks Field.
Playing in windy conditions all day, Utah Tech (15-29, 6-14 WAC) totaled eight hits in the opener and added five base knocks in game two.
Kinley Pappas and
Carly Eldredge each tallied two hits apiece in game one with Eldredge tacking on a double while Pappas scored a pair of runs.
Rylie Haith smacked a two-run home run, her first of the doubleheader, and
Kennedy Embrey added an RBI.
The second game saw base knocks from five different Trailblazers and got extra-base hits fromÂ
Ellie Evans with a double and a second long ball by Haith tallying a second two-run home run.

Sauren Garton made the start in game one lasting 1.1 innings before giving way to
Lexie Wilson for the final 5.2 innings of work.
The second game saw the sixth complete game of 2025 by
Riley Price as the sophomore tossed 109 pitches and struck out one and walked one.
Game One Recap
California Baptist (21-25, 9-8 WAC) got the scoring started early in the contest with a three-run home run in the top of the first by Kalena Burns.
The Trailblazers answered back with a two-run home run by Haith to right-center in the bottom of the frame, but it the scoring went all the Lancers way from there.
CBU scored four runs in the second, two in the fourth and one in the seventh to extend their lead to 10-2 before an RBI double to left-center by Embrey drove in Pappas for the final run of the game.
Game One Recap
After a scoreless first three innings, the Lancers struck first thanks to a Trailblazer fielding error in the fourth that allowed one run to score.
UT quickly answered back tying the game at one after a sacrifice fly to center by
Marisa Rubio.
CBU broke open the game with a five-run fifth notching back-to-back RBI singles before a three-run home run by Burns pushed the Lancers lead to 6-1.
The Trailblazers closed the deficit to 6-3 with a two-run home run to right field by Haith and the Lancers closed out the scoring in the seventh with a solo home run.
UT was retired in order in the bottom of the frame as their rally fell short.
