Utah Tech junior
Tanner Telford was named Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf co-Player of the Week on Thursday after he helped guide the Trailblazers to a t-seventh place showing at the 2025 Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate earlier this week.
Telford (5-11; Mountain Green, Utah/Morgan HS/Utah) posted three under-par rounds on his way to a t-sixth place finish at minus-9 207.
The junior led Utah Tech and finished t-ninth in the 90-player field with 13 total birdies, five of which came in an opening 4-under 68 on Monday.
Telford followed that up a 3-under 69 on his second loop on Tuesday with three birdies and no bogeys. He then closed with a 2-under 70 with five more birdies on Wednesday en route to his season-low, under-par tournament score.
In his Trailblazer debut at the Colorado State Ram Masters Inv'l (9/17-18/24), Telford placed solo third at minus-8 202, which tied for the second-lowest individual 54-hole score in program history.
Utah Tech returns to action in two weeks when the Trailblazers head to Bandon, Ore., to play in the Idaho-hosted Bandon Dunes Championships on March 9-11.
