Trailblazers Earn Seven All-WAC Selections, Campoli and Broadhead Headline WAC Postseason Awards

(Arlington, Texas - Nov. 7, 2025) – Utah Tech's Luca Campoli is the Western Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, and Jonny Broadhead is the Coach of the Year, the WAC announced on Friday. The Trailblazers collected a Division I era record seven all-conference selections, the most since UT's eight all-PacWest honorees in 2016.

Campoli, a freshman from Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, made his first career appearance at UC San Diego, combining for a shutout with an injured Stockton Short. Since then, Campoli has started 10 matches, totaling 35 saves and two solo shutouts. In conference play, he has led the WAC in saves (27) and save percentage (.771), while tying for first in shutouts (2) and second in goals against average (1.14). Campoli is the fourth goalkeeper of the year in program history, and the first since the Trailblazers racked up three-straight in the PacWest in 2015-2017. Campoli was also named to the All-WAC First Team and WAC All-Freshman Team for his performance this season.

Head Coach Jonny Broadhead picked up his career-first Coach of the Year honors. After a rough 1-5-3 start to the season, Broadhead led the Trailblazers to a second-half resurgence. In WAC play, the Trailblazers led the league in goals (14) and points (40), while ranking second in goals allowed (8), saves (30) and shutouts (2). Under the leadership of Broadhead, UT defied a preseason ranking of eighth in the WAC, last in the coaches poll, to total 12 points with a mark of 3-1-3, finishing second in the conference, UT's best-ever placement in the WAC. Broadhead is UT's second-ever conference coach of the year, joining Josh Pittman in 2015 (PacWest Coach of the Year).

Senior defender Anthony Godinez and sophomore forward Taylor Rogers were also named to the All-WAC First Team. Godinez has started all 15 of his appearances this season, totaling just under 1,300 minutes. While helping the Trailblazer defense to three shutouts, Godinez also scored the first goal in UT's 2-1 upset win at No. 25 California Baptist. The native of Hillsboro, Oregon, has logged 10 shots with three on goal.

Rogers has led the Trailblazers in goals (7), assists (5) and points (19) this season, ranking fifth in the WAC in all three categories. His seven goals and 19 points are single-season UT records in the DI era. He has started all 16 games, playing just under 1,200 minutes. The native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is also second on the team in shots (23) and shots on goal (15), while netting two penalty kick goals on two attempts. The recognition is Rogers' second career all-WAC honor, joining his 2022 selection to the WAC All-Freshman Team.

Sophomore midfielder Dunes Nielsen was selected to the All-WAC Second Team. In 13 appearances, he has made 12 starts, playing over 800 minutes. The Prosper, Texas native has tallied five goals and one assist this season, totaling 11 points. Nielsen ties for seventh in goals (5) and eighth in points (11) in the WAC this year. He also leads the Trailblazers with 28 shots and 15 shots on goal.

Three Trailblazers made the WAC All-Freshman Team, including Campoli, midfielder Jacob Cinelli and forward Stetson Coy. Cinelli has appeared in 15 games, starting 10 this season for a total of 960 minutes. He has assisted on two goals, while logging 13 shots with six on goal.

Coy has appeared in 14 matches, making five starts this season for a total of 626 minutes. His first career goal was the game-winner in Utah Tech's 2-1 upset win at No. 25 California Baptist. Coy recorded his first career assist in a 3-1 win against RV San José State.

The No. 2 seed Trailblazers return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the WAC Tournament semifinals. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. (MT) at CBU Soccer Stadium in Riverside, California. UT awaits the winner of Sunday's quarterfinal game between No. 3 Grand Canyon and No. 6 Utah Valley.
