ALL-WAC NODS
Utah Tech totaled a program-record eight All-WAC Selections and freshman forward Jocelyn Wright was named the WAC Freshman of the Year, the conference announced on Tuesday. Wright is the first Trailblazer Freshman of the Year since Whitley Johns was honored as the RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2018.

The Trailblazers led the WAC with three All-WAC Freshman Team honorees and tied Utah Valley and California Baptist for the most All-WAC selections with eight apiece. Utah Tech's eight all-conference honorees set a program record, surpassing seven All-PacWest selections in 2009 and 2010.

Senior forward Lacy Fox (2024 All-WAC Second Team) and sophomore midfielder Bre Koscielski (2024 All-WAC Freshman Team) each picked up their second career All-WAC honor.

BROST NAMED OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Redshirt sophomore forward Lataya Brost was selected as the WAC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. It's Brost's first career selection and UT's fifth WAC weekly honor this season. Brost led the Trailblazers to an 8-1 victory over rival Southern Utah on Sunday night. She netted the 16th hat trick in program history, third in the Division I era, and set the DI era record for points in a game with seven, tying for third all-time.

TRAILBLAZERS AT THE WAC TOURNAMENT
This is Utah Tech's fourth-straight WAC Tournament appearance, with the Trailblazers making all four tournaments since they were deemed eligible. This is UT's first WAC semifinal appearance. Utah Tech is seeking its first Division I postseason goal and win in Wednesday's match.

UT head coach Lexi Brown helped Utah Valley to its first-ever WAC Tournament win in 2014, scoring a goal in the Wolverines' 2-1 win over Texas-Pan American in the quarterfinals. In 2013, Brown was named to the WAC All-Tournament Team. UT assistant coach Tyler Brown played in two WAC Men's Soccer Tournaments for Utah Valley, helping the Wolverines to the championship game in 2015.

ASSIST ADEPT
Senior midfielder Kyah Le leads the Trailblazers with eight assists this season, ranking third in the WAC and 35th nationally. Her eight assists this season are a UT Division I-era record and tie for third all-time. Le's 0.42 assists per game are third in the conference and 56th in the country. With five goals, Le's 18 points lead UT and rank sixth in the WAC.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
Freshman forward Jocelyn Wright is the 2025 WAC Freshman of the Year. Wright leads the Trailblazers and all WAC freshmen with six goals this season, tying for fifth overall in the conference. She also added an assist to finish the regular season with 13 points, tied for fourth on the team. Wright was also named to the All-WAC Second Team and All-WAC Freshman Team for her performance this season.

FRESHMAN FIREPOWER
Utah Tech's 10 freshman goals lead the conference and double all five other teams' first-year goal totals combined. Southern Utah (3) and Tarleton State (2) are the only other WAC schools that have had a freshman goal this season. Forwards Jocelyn Wright (6) and Brooke Hendricks (2) and defender Abby Olsen (2) have each made tallies in the goal column.

BOOTS AT THE READY
Utah Tech is outshooting its opponents 277-253 this season, including a 131-99 edge in shots on goal. UT's 14.6 shots per game are second in the WAC and 85th nationally. Redshirt sophomore forward Lataya Brost is leading the charge, totaling 51 shots to lead the Trailblazers and rank fourth in the WAC.

The Trailblazers have outshot or tied their opponents' shot total in 12 of their 19 games this season. Defensively, UT has limited its opponents to 10 or fewer shots eight times this season.

OLSEN RECOGNIZED BY TDS
Freshman defender Abby Olsen was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Women's Freshmen Top 100, as announced on Oct. 10. Olsen is the first Trailblazer in program history to make the prestigious list, recognizing the top 100 freshmen in the country. Olsen has played in all 18 games this season, starting in 17 matches and totaling five points and 1,179 minutes. Olsen was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23 and Oct. 21.

LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt sophomore forward Lataya Brost netted a hat trick to lead Utah Tech women's soccer past Southern Utah, 8-1, on Sunday night at Greater Zion Stadium. UT scored a Division I era-record eight goals to earn a season series sweep in the Battle of the Ax and celebrate seven departing Trailblazers on senior night. It was Brost's first career hat trick and second career multi-goal match. With her assist, Brost recorded the most points in a single game in the DI era with seven, tying for third all-time. The Trailblazers set DI era records with 28 shots and 17 shots on goal, compared to SUU's 16 shots and eight on goal. Senior goalkeeper Brianna Frey tallied seven saves, while two Thunderbird goalkeepers combined for nine stops. With the win, Utah Tech remained undefeated against rival SUU all-time with a 5-0-2 record. UT also played spoiler to the Thunderbirds, denying them the last spot in the WAC Tournament with the win.

DÉJÀ VU x 2
UT and CBU are meeting for the third time this season, but for the first time in the postseason and at a neutral site in series history. This is the 21st installment in a matchup that dates back to both schools' Division II days. California Baptist is Utah Tech's most frequently faced opponent, with 20 all-time meetings. The Lancers took both matchups this season, 2-0 in St. George and 2-1 in Riverside. California Baptist leads the series all-time 16-3-1, with a 7-1-1 edge in Division I contests. The Trailblazers are seeking their first win over CBU since a 3-2 victory at home in 2021.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancers take on the Trailblazers after dropping their regular-season finale at Abilene Christian, 2-1. It was CBU's third loss in conference play after getting swept by No. 1 Utah Valley in the regular season.

Junior forward/defender Ava Westlund leads the Lancers with eight goals, ranking fourth in the WAC and tying for 95th nationally. With five assists, Westlund's 21 points rank fourth in the conference and 86th in the nation. She also leads CBU in shots (52) and shots on goal (26), with an impressive 50.0% shot accuracy. Junior Anja Jestrovic has been another big offensive weapon for CBU. She leads the team with seven assists, tied fifth in the WAC, while adding five goals for 17 points.

In net, senior goalkeeper Mikayla O'Brien is the 2025 WAC Goalkeeper of the Year. With six shutouts, O'Brien leads the conference and ties for 68th nationally. She has allowed 20 goals this season, logging a .773 save percentage and a 1.26 goals against average against 191 shots faced. O'Brien, Westlund and Jestrovic were all named to the 2025 All-WAC First Team.

CHASING HISTORY
In Utah Tech's all-time career record book, senior forward Lacy Fox ranks sixth in game-winning goals (6), sixth in career goals (21), sixth in points (52), tied for seventh in shots (128) and eighth in shots on goal (63).

Senior goalkeeper Brianna Frey ranks first all-time in career saves (232), first in minutes (4,635) and fourth in shutouts (8).

REPRESENTING THE 801
Two-thirds of Utah Tech's roster hails from the Beehive State. 16 of those 18 student-athletes' hometowns are on the Wasatch Front, a long and relatively narrow strip of land to the west of the Wasatch Mountains, where approximately 80% of Utahns live.

THE SPOKANE CONNECTION
Head coach Lexi Brown was an assistant at Gonzaga for five seasons prior to accepting the top job in St. George. While in Spokane, Washington, Brown coached senior midfielder Kyah Le (GU 2022-23) and first-year assistant coach Lauren Towne (GU goalkeeper 2020-24). Additionally, sophomore midfielder Bre Koscielski and senior forward Tessa Thornton hail from Spokane.

BIG SKY BOUND
Utah Tech announced this offseason that it will become a full member of the Big Sky Conference on July 1, 2026. The Trailblazers will join a robust women's soccer cohort that includes Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State and Southern Utah (The Thunderbirds will rejoin the Big Sky in 2026). The Big Sky has sent a team to the NCAA College Cup every season since 1999, with three squads making it as far as the second round. UT has a combined record of 13-5-6 all-time against its future conference mates, including three wins and a draw this season.

WHAT'S NEXT
Wednesday's semifinal winner will advance to the WAC Tournament Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at UCCU Stadium in Orem, Utah.
