(St George, UT - Sept 6, 2026) – Utah Tech women's soccer gets a goal from
Lataya Brost in the 87th minute to secure the program's first ever win against the Pac-12 Conference on Sunday morning.
It was a quick start for Colorado State (1-5-0) as they were able to get the match' first six shots. Utah Tech (4-3-1) goalkeeper and reigning Big Sky Defender of the Week,
Elle Rafajko, was able to stop the one shot out of six that was on target, en route to her three first half saves.
Utah Tech's first scoring chance came on a corner kick in the 21st minute where
Lataya Brost hit the top woodmark.
The Rams kept the pressure on the Trailblazers for the remainder of the half, but were unable to convert on their 10 shot attempts, with just three being on target and none getting past Rafajko.
The second half was much more even in terms of possession and scoring chances. Both teams had great opportunities, but both teams' backlines and keepers remained solid and kept the game scoreless.

Gianna Tomasello streaking down the right wing. Tomasello crossed one toward the middle of the box where redshirt junior
Lataya Brost was posted up and was able to volley the pass into the back of the net, beating the goalie to the left side of the goal.
The Trailblazers were able to weather the last minute push from the Rams, and held on for the 1-0 shutout victory.
RAFAJKO STOUT AGAIN
Elle Rafajko recorded her second shutout of the season, and second in her last four matches. Rafajko recorded six saves, and was solid with her distributions.
