Trailblazers Sweep Mavericks on Senior Day, Earn Share of WAC Title

It is Utah Tech's second WAC regular season title joining softball in 2023.

(St. George, Utah - Nov. 15, 2025) - The Trailblazers wrapped up the regular season on Saturday afternoon sweeping UT Arlington on Senior Day and earned a share of the WAC regular season title.

Tying atop the WAC regular season standings alongside Utah Valley, Utah Tech (19-5, 10-2 WAC) finished off a perfect 9-0 record at home this season and will enter next week's WAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Prior to the match, the Trailblazers honored seniors Casidy Fried, Kennedi Knudsen, Taylor Snow and Kaycee Bugas playing in their final home matches at Burns Arena.

The Trailblazers were led for a second straight contest by Emery Harrison in kills as the sophomore outside hitter finished with 12 to go along with a pair of block assists.

Junior libero Mya Laufiso led the Trailblazers with 12 digs while Fried led the charge defensively with four blocks, including three solo stops, and added seven kills.

How It Happened
Utah Tech got out to a quick 12-3 lead in the opening set continuing to lead by six at 21-15 before closing out the set on a 4-1 run with the set capped off by a kill by Tessa Treanor.

Another strong start to the second set saw the Trailblazers jump ahead 12-4 after an UTA attack error.

Five straight points for the Mavs brought UTA within three and the Trailblazers continued to lead by four (21-17) before finishing out the set with a pair of kills by Fried & one from Nana Asiata along with a Maverick attack error.

UT Arlington raced out to a 13-6 lead to start the third set and looked to stave off a Trailblazer sweep, but Utah Tech had a different outcome in mind.

A kill by Fried got four straight points started for the Trailblazers and started a 13-5 run for UT to take a 19-18 advantage.

After a kill by the Mavs to tie the set, the Trailblazers emphatically finished off the match with the final six points sealing the match after an UTA attack error.
