OPENING SERVE
The Trailblazers wrap up the regular season this week hosting Tarleton State on Thursday night and UT Arlington on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day at Burns Arena.
LOOK BACK AT LAST WEEK
The Trailblazers scored the final six points of the deciding fifth set on Saturday afternoon to defeat California Baptist in five sets. UT won 25-21 in the first set before the Lancers won set two and three, 25-23, 25-21, respectively.
With the Trailblazers evening the match at two sets apiece with a 25-21 win in the fourth set, UT fell behind 12-9 in the fifth set before reeling off six straight points to complete the comeback win.
The Trailblazers were led by a career-high 16 kills from senior middle blocker Taylor Snow who added five digs, four block assists and a service ace.
Junior outside hitter Tessa Treanor nearly tallied a double-double tying for the team lead with 14 digs and added nine kills & five service aces (tied for sixth-most in a single match).
Senior middle blocker Casidy Fried registered a career-best 11 blocks, including three solo, while setter Marley Roe led the way with 22 assists.
SENIOR DAY RECOGNITION
Prior to Saturday's match, the Trailblazers will honor their four seniors Kaycee Bugas (137 SP, 65 MP, 113 digs), Kennedi Knudsen (256 SP, 68 MP, 975 kills, 567 digs, 121 blocks, 37 SA), Casidy Fried (178 SP, 49 MP, 227 kills, 253 blocks, 84 digs) & Taylor Snow (224 SP, 62 MP, 386 kills, 226 blocks)Â in their final home match at Burns Arena.
GLANCE AT THE TARLETON STATE TEXANS
Tarleton State is 14-8 overall on the season and tied with the Trailblazers for second in the WAC with an 8-2 mark.
The Texans are on a six-match winning streak since falling to the Trailblazers in four sets on Oct. 9 with a pair of sweeps and have won three matches in five sets.
The Texans currently rank third in the WAC in blocks per set (2.49), digs per set (14.09), hitting percentage (.206), assists (968), digs (1,212) and blocks (214).
Individually, senior middle blocker Emma Burke checks in second in the conference in blocks (114) and is fourth in blocks per set (1.33). Redshirt senior libero Morgan Carter is third in digs per set (4.06) & digs (349).     Â
SERIES HISTORY VS. TARLETON STATE
The Trailblazers and Texans have met nine times in series history with Utah Tech leading 6-3.
Utah Tech is on a three-match winning streak against the Texans after winning in four sets in Stephenville on Oct. 9 and won both matchups last season.
The Trailblazers are 2-1 at home against the Texans with wins in 2018 & 2024 and fell in four sets in 2022.
GLANCE AT THE UT ARLINGTON MAVERICKS
UT Arlington is 11-11 overall and 3-7 in WAC play sitting fifth in the conference.
The Mavs play at Southern Utah on Thursday and are 2-5 on the road this season.
A stellar serving team, UTA leads the WAC in service aces (193 - 16th nationally) & aces per set (2.05).
Additionally, the Mavs are second in the conference in digs per set (14.19), assists (1,031), digs (1,334), kills (1,112) and total attacks (3,236).
Individually, junior libero Samantha Glenn leads the WAC in digs per set (4.29) and is second in digs (403). Junior setter Mira Ledermueller leads the conference in assists per set (8.96) and assists (824).
SERIES HISTORY VS. UT ARLINGTON
The Trailblazers and Mavericks have met five times in series history.
UTA has won the last three contests winning in four sets in Arlington on Oct. 18 and swept both contests last season while the Trailblazers earned victories in five sets at home in 2023 and on the road in five sets in 2022.
WHERE UTAH TECH RANKS IN THE WAC IN 2025
As a team, the Trailblazers lead the WAC in assists per set (12.09), hitting percentage (.225), kills per set (13.26), attacks per set (35.63), opponent hitting percentage (.149 - 6th nationally) & digs per set (14.51).Â
UT ranks second in blocks per set (2.91 - 8th nationally), total blocks (233.0 - 56th nationally) & is third in kills (1,061), and total attacks (2,850).
Casidy Fried ranks second in the WAC in hitting percentage (.316), ranks third in the WAC in blocks per set (1.39) & fourth in blocks (111).Â
Taylor Snow checks in fifth in the WAC in blocks (97) & blocks per set (1.24).
Laufiso ranks fourth in the WAC in total digs (296) & digs per set (3.70). Marley Roe checks in fifth in assists per set (5.79) & assists (463).
WINNING WAYS
With their win over California Baptist last Saturday, the Trailblazers have reached 17 wins for the eighth time in Utah Tech's 20 seasons in the NCAA era.
It is the most wins in a season since 2019 & joins 2009 (18), 2013 (17), 2014 (22), 2015 (19), 2016 (17), 2018 (22) & 2019 (20).
With victories in their final two regular season matches, it will only be the fifth season with 19 or more wins.
BLOCKS
The Trailblazers have notched 18 matches with more blocks than their opponents this season and are 15-3 when leading holding an advantage in blocks.
Utah Tech tallied a season-high 18 blocks on Oct. 23 at home against Abilene Christian tallying two solo blocks and 32 block assists.
The 18.0 total blocks and 32 block assists are both tied for the third-most in a single match in program history.
FRIED & SNOW CLIMBING THE CAREER BLOCK CHARTS
Both Fried and Snow continue to climb the career block charts as Fried enters the final weekend of action sixth all-time with 253.0 blocks and Snow sits eighth with 222.0 blocks.
Snow is fifth in solo blocks with 39 while Fried is sixth with 36. Fried is tied for sixth all-time in block assists (217) and Snow ranks ninth (187).
On the season, Fried entered the top 10 in a single season in total blocks (111 - 7th), block assists (95 - 8th) and solo blocks (16 - T-8th).
HOME COOKING
The Trailblazers are off to their first-ever 7-0 home start and will look to complete a perfect home record mark for the first time in program history with a pair of victories this weekend.
It would be the seventh time UT has secured nine or more home wins joining 2013-16 (9), 12 wins in 2018 & 14 victories in 2019.
UP NEXT
The Trailblazers head to the WAC Tournament next week hosted by Abilene Christian on Nov. 20-22 with the winner earning the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
