Utah Tech women's soccer surrendered a pair of second half Bronco goals in a 2-0 loss at Boise State on Thursday night at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise.
The two sides played to a scoreless stalemate through the first 55-plus minutes, before Boise State (5-1-0) forward Avery McBride finished a Carly Cross pass with her left boot to put her side up 1-0.Â
The Broncos then added an insurance goal nearly seven minutes later when Sophie Drown headed in a Jayla Land corner kick blast just inside the far post at the 62:26 mark of the match.Â
Meanwhile the Trailblazers (3-2-2/0-0-0 WAC) were limited to only one shot on goal, which came off the foot of
Kyah Le early in the 53
rd minute, but was turned away by Bronco netminder Genevieve Crenshaw.
Utah Tech was outshot 20-8 on the night overall, 14-1 on goal. Junior goalkeeper
Brianna Frey tied a career high with 12 saves, eight of which came after halftime.
