(Arlington, Texas - Aug. 23, 2024) - The Trailblazer volleyball team was selected seventh in the 2024 WAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Friday.
Coming off a ninth-place finish in the WAC regular season in 2023, the Trailblazers were picked seventh in 2024 earning 22 points.
With WAC regular season champion Stephen F. Austin departing the conference, Grand Canyon was narrowly selected in the top spot after a runner-up finish in the regular season and won the conference tournament crown last season.
The Lopes claimed 60 total points and four first place votes with UT Arlington coming in right behind GCU in second with 59 points and tallied a conference-best five first place votes.
Utah Valley was selected third with 50 points, California Baptist in fourth, Tarleton State in fifth and Abilene Christian in sixth.
Rounding out the poll following the Trailblazers was Southern Utah in eighth and Seattle U in ninth.
The Trailblazers travel to UNLVÂ for an exhibition match on Saturday afternoon before opening the regular season at the Weber State Wildcat Invitational in Ogden next weekend.
