(St. George, Utah - May 21, 2024) - The Utah Tech volleyball team added outside hitter and Weber State transfer Ioana Asiata to the 2024 roster on Tuesday.

A transfer from Weber State, Asiata redshirted the 2023 season as the Wildcats posted a 21-10 record on their way to the Big Sky Tournament championship and the NCAA Tournament falling to BYU in the opening round.

Asiata was a four-year player on varsity at Herriman High School where she played in 276 sets racking up 1,061 kills, 759 digs, 115 service aces, 86 total blocks and 70 assists.

As a senior in 2022, she totaled 344 kills averaging 4.5 kills per set while hitting .399. She added 202 digs, 35 service aces, 33 assists and 31 total blocks for the 20-win Mustangs.

The Trailblazers get the 2024 season underway with an exhibition at UNLV on Aug. 24 before opening the season at the Weber State Invitational on Aug. 30-31.
