(St. George, Utah - April 26, 2024) - The Trailblazers offense came alive on Friday in a doubleheader sweep over UT Arlington winning game one, 15-1 in five innings before holding on for an 8-4 win in game two.

Utah Tech (18-27, 11-10 WAC) totaled 12 hits in the opening game with eight base knocks in game two.

Led by a grand slam in each game by Rachel Campbell, the senior catcher added a solo home run to total nine RBI on the day giving her a team-leading 11 home runs and 32 RBI on the season.

Oaklee Trapp added a single and run in game one followed by a single, a solo home run and two RBI in game two.

In the circle, Attlyn Johnston earned her seventh win of the season in game one tossing a complete game allowing four hits, one earned run and struck out eight.

The second game saw a second straight complete game tossed, this time by Tyler Denhart, as she held UTA to four hits, three earned runs, struck out four and walked none to earn her fifth win of the season.

Game One Recap
Scoring a season-high 15 runs in the first game of the day, the Trailblazers exploded for eight runs in the second inning.

With the scoring getting started on a fielder's choice by Marisa Rubio, a bases-loaded walk by LB Kahawai-Kekona scored Sadie Gardner, and back-to-back RBI singles by Laura Lockard & Baylee Howley pushed Utah Tech in front, 4-0.

With the bases remaining loaded, Campbell smacked a grand slam to left field to extend the lead to 8-0. Two more runs came home for the Trailblazers in the third inning after a pair of fielding errors by the Mavericks pushed UT ahead, 10-0.

Five more runs came home for the Blazers in the fourth to extend their lead to 15-0 with the Mavericks lone run coming on a solo home run in the fourth as Utah Tech claimed its second run-rule win of 2024.

Game Two Recap
Staying hot offensively in game two, the Trailblazers struck first in the nightcap with a pair of solo home runs in the second inning, first by Campbell followed by a shot to right by Trapp.

The Mavericks answered back with two runs in the third inning on an RBI single to left field and a sacrifice fly to knot the game at two.

Heading to the bottom of the sixth with the game still locked up at two apiece, the Blazers led off the frame with walks to Kahahawai-Kekona and Madison Duryea and a hit by pitch to Lockard loaded the bases. Campbell followed roping her second grand slam of the day with a shot to center field to push the lead to 6-2.

A two-run RBI single by Rubio to center brought home both Trapp and Ellie Evans for an 8-2 lead after six innings. The Mavericks answered back with two runs of their own in the seventh, but Denhart stranded a pair of runners on base and sealed the win with a flyout to center.
