(St. George, Utah - March 8, 2024) - The Trailblazer tennis team returned home on Friday afternoon falling to Idaho State, 5-2 at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts.

"There were some really close matches today," said head coach Eric Pelton. "The team came out strong and fought hard!"

After dropping all three matches at doubles, Utah Tech (4-7) bounced back in the singles to win a pair of matches.

Claiming wins at both number one and number five singles, Adithi Venkatakrishnan and Rachel Mellor earned wins with Adithi fighting back from dropping the second set and Mellor winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 over Sydney Morris.

"Adi had a big win at number one singles closing out the third set, 6-3. It was a great win for her against a very good player!," added Pelton. "Rachel had a great win at number five singles, winning in straight sets!

The Trailblazers are back on the court on Saturday morning taking on Colorado Mesa (7-7) at 10 a.m.
