(Tarleton, Texas - March 28, 2024) - The Trailblazers opened their four-match road trip on Thursday afternoon falling 6-1 to Tarleton State at the Tarleton Tennis Facility.

Utah Tech earned a win at number one singles by Adithi Venkatakrishnan as she took an early lead in the opening set before her opponent had to retire due to injury.

Unfortunately for the Blazers, that would be their lone point of the day as they dropped the doubles point with the number one team of Mariana Zurita and Rachel Mellor falling in a hard-fought tiebreaker.

Mellor went on to win a set at number four singles before dropping a third set tiebreaker.

"Rachel played awesome!" said head coach Eric Pelton. "She lost the first set in a tie breaker then won the second set, but dropped the third set tie breaker!"

The Trailblazers head to Abilene Christian (5-10, 2-1 WAC) on Saturday for a match at 10 a.m.
