Utah Tech junior goalkeeper
Brianna Frey was named WAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday. It is Frey's second time receiving the honor this season.
Earning her third shutout of the season, Frey blanked Southern Utah with eight saves to help the Trailblazers top the Thunderbirds 4-0 on Saturday. One of Frey's best moments of the match came in the 70th minute when she stopped back-to-back shots, scrambling to her near post to save an SUU rebound shot for the double save.
The clean sheet was Frey's fifth of her career. On the season, Frey has totaled 86 saves, a career-best 1.38 goals-against average and a career-best save percentage of .796.
Utah Tech will next take on No. 3 seed Seattle U in the first round of the WAC Tournament. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (MT) on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Elmer Gray Stadium in Abilene, Texas.
