Utah Tech junior goalkeeper Stockton Short was named WAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Monday. It's Short's first honor this season and third time being recognized by the WAC after he was awarded weekly honors twice last season.

Helping the Trailblazers earn their first point in WAC play this season with a 0-0 draw, Short tallied five saves to keep San José State off the board on Thursday in San Jose, California. Short recorded his first clean sheet this season and his fifth career shutout in the match. Short is now tied for fourth all-time in UT history in career shutouts. 

On Sunday at Seattle U, Short totaled a career-best 11 saves, the most by any Trailblazer in a single game in the DI era and second-most all-time. Short allowed just one goal on a penalty kick in the third minute, effectively shutting down one of the WAC's most potent offenses in live play. 

On the season, Short has totaled a career-best 80 saves, one shutout and a career-best save percentage of 0.784. With 80, Short ranks fourth in single-season saves in UT history.

Utah Tech continues WAC play this week by hosting Grand Canyon on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and UTRGV on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Greater Zion Stadium.
