(Salt Lake City – Jan. 19, 2024) - The Utah Tech women's tennis team opened the 2024 season on Friday falling, 7-0 to Utah at George S. Eccles Tennis Center.

Battling Utah (2-0) tough at the number one doubles, the Trailblazers' Rachel Mellor and Annemiek Sterk took the Utes' Ana Cruz and Marcela Lopez to a 6-6 tie before a deciding seventh point saw the UTU duo fall, 10-8.

Utah Tech continued to fight throughout the remainder of the match with freshman and St. George native Kylie Kezos scoring three points at number six singles in her first career dual.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday morning taking on Montana State (2-1) at 9 a.m. at George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
