Brown joins the program after two seasons at Eastern Washington.

(ST. GEORGE, Utah – July 20, 2023) Utah Tech Athletics announced the addition of Tyler Brown to its Women's Soccer coaching staff on Wednesday. A native of Spokane, Wash., Brown played collegiately at Utah Valley and brings a wealth of experience to the program.

"I am very excited about the addition of Tyler Brown to our staff here at Utah Tech," head coach Lexi Brown said. "He has the coaching background and personality that make him a perfect fit for Utah Tech and I know he will aid in the continued success of this program.

"His extensive knowledge of the tactical side of the game will be important in planning training sessions, developing players and game management," Brown added. "Tyler is a remarkable relationship builder and a dynamic recruiter which will be incredibly important to the future of Utah Tech Women's Soccer."

Brown, who is married to head coach Lexi Brown, spent the last two seasons as an assistant women's soccer coach at Eastern Washington.

He aided in the development of several All-Big Sky selections at EWU, including Kelsee Winston, who earned second team all-Big Sky honors after making 116 saves during the 2021 season, and Maddie Morgan, who tallied five goals and four assists to earn Big Sky Co-Offensive MVP and Co-Golden Boot accolades last season.

Prior to his time at Eastern Washington, Brown was a volunteer assistant coach with the women's soccer program at Gonzaga. His duties included opponent scouting and assisting with the goalkeepers, and the Bulldog staff was named West Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches College Services program for the 2020-21 season.

After playing his freshman season at the University of Massachusetts, Brown played two seasons at Utah Valley and was named to the WAC All-Academic team after his junior season.

Brown's experience goes well beyond the United States, as he played club soccer in Germany, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, and also played in the 6th tier of German Soccer Landesliga as a semi-professional.

He also spent time coaching for Eastern Washington Surf, Super League and the Girls Academy, served as the Head Coach for Utah FC from 2015-17, and was the Director of Coaching for Inferno FC in Post Falls, Idaho in 2017.

Brown graduated from Utah Valley with his Bachelor's degree in Communication in 2016 before completing his Master's degree at Gonzaga in 2020.
