Utah Tech women's tennis wrapped up the road portion of its 2022-23 season with a hard-fought 5-2 loss at Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at the SFA Schlief Tennis Complex. 
 
The Trailblazers (2-16/0-7 WAC) claimed two of the three doubles matches to pick up the first point of the dual. The No. 1 duo of Rachel Mellor and Annemiek Sterk set the early tone as they rallied back from two match points to win the final three game en route to a 7-5 triumph over the SFA tandem of Alkmini Giannakogiorgou and Jemma Cave.

Meanwhile, the No. 2 doubles tandem of Ya-Chi Hsu and Adithi Venkatakrishnan eased their way to a 6-1 win over SFA's Felicia Back and Zala Ule.
 
However Utah Tech could not carry that momentum into singles play as the Lumberjacks (10-10/2-4 WAC) took five of the six singles matches in straight sets. UT's lone win in singles came at the No. 3 position, where Venkatakrishnan posted a straight-set victory over Ule, 6-4, 6-2. 
 
Utah Tech will close out the 2022-23 regular season at home with a pair of dual matches next weekend at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts. The Blazers will host Abilene Christian on Friday at 1 p.m., followed by Sunday's finale vs. Tarleton State beginning at 9:30 a.m.
