Utah Tech opened its final homestand of the 2022-23 season on the wrong side of a 5-2 WAC dual loss to Abilene Christian on Friday afternoon at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts.
UT (2-18/0-8 WAC) dropped all three doubles matches, but came back to claim victory at No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Junior
Rachel Mellor recorded the Trailblazers' first point of the match with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over ACU's No. 1 Masha Vrsalovic, while freshman
Adithi Venkatakrishnan defeated ACU's Maryjoe Crisolog at No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-3.
However Utah Tech fell in straight sets in the other four singles matches as the Wildcats (10-12/4-4 WAC) cruised to the dual win.
Utah Tech will close out the 2022-23 season with a home dual vs. Tarleton State this Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m.
