Utah Tech women's tennis headed to its first road match of the year at Idaho State on Friday afternoon. The Trailblazers fell 7-0 despite some hard-fought matches.

What Head Coach Eric Pelton said: "It was a good match, we had to adjust to the indoors and altitude, but the team played hard! Alysha came up just short of getting a good win at #5 Singles!"

How it happened: The Trailblazers were unable to find a doubles win on the day, but Raquel Roshak and Jane Dorny gave it their all and fell just 6-3 in the No. 3 spots. Rachel Mellor and Annemiek Sterk fell 6-2 in the No. 1 spot and Ya-Chi Hsu and Adithi Venkatakrishnan fell 6-2 in the No. 2 spot.

The Trailblazers battled in the singles action but couldn't find any success as the Bengals walked away with a clean sweep. 

Alysha Damron had a hard fought loss in the No. 5 spot. She lost her first set 6-2 but was able to rally back for a 6-2 win in set two and force a tiebreak set. The tiebreak set came down to the wire where she fell just barely by a score of 11-9.

Utah Tech will round out the weekend at Utah State on Sunday morning. The match will start at 10 a.m. in Logan.
