Utah Tech women's tennis fell narrowly to the Idaho Vandals on Saturday morning. Despite three first career wins, the Trailblazers were unable to overcome the Vandals and fell 4-3.

Starting off the day in doubles play the Trailblazers had three good efforts but were unable to win the doubles point.
Cami Oyama and
Raquel Roshak fell 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles.
Ya-Chi Hsu and
Adithi Venkatakrishnan fell 6-2.
Rachel Mellor and
Annemiek Sterk came closest to a win for the Trailblazers, falling narrowly 6-4 in the No. 1 spot.

Heading to singles play, things started to pick up for the Trailblazers.
Alysha Damron played to her first career win in the No. 5 singles spot. She had a quick match for the first finish on the day, beating Idaho's Selin Sepken 6-1 and 6-2.

Raquel Roshak held her own in the No. 6 spot for her first collegiate win. She fought for a pair of 6-2 wins over Idaho's Lena Beck.

Adithi Kenkatakrishnan found the final point for the Trailblazers on the day as she fought for her first career singles win. Her first set was a quick 6-2 win, but the second set was a battle. Venkatakrishnan was able to squeak out a 7-5 win and prevent a tiebreak set in the No. 3 spot.

Rachel Mellor was nearly able to find the winning point for the Trailblazers on the day but she fell just short in a tiebreak set. In the No. 1 spot she was able to win her first set 6-4, but Rodas Valentina made a comeback in set two with a 6-4 scoreline as well. In the final set it was a back-and-forth battle between the two but Rodas had the edge and sealed the win for the Vandals.

Utah Tech will be back in action next week at a UNLV Invitational. The Trailblazers will play three games over three days against UTSA, Kansas City and UNLV. The invitational will take place on Feb. 17-19 with all three of the Trailblazers games starting at 11 a.m. (MT).
