Trailblazers add four in fall signing class

The Utah Tech volleyball program and head coach Camilla Hafoka announced the signing of four student-athletes for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday.

(St. George, Utah – Nov. 15, 2023) - The Utah Tech volleyball program and head coach Camilla Hafoka announced the signing of four student-athletes for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday.

The Trailblazers will add three high school student-athletes and one junior college transfer to the fold next season.

Joining the program from the high school ranks are Ireland Avalos, a setter from Chandler, Ariz., Emery Harrison, an outside hitter from Cedar City, Utah, and Lusia Langi, a middle blocker from Kyle, Texas.

Adding to the new additions will be middle blocker Casidy Fried, a Middleton, Idaho native transferring from Utah State-Eastern, who will be joined by Harrison as newcomers joining in the spring with Avalos and Langi arriving in St. George in the fall.

Coach Hafoka on the 2024 signing class: "I am excited about this 2024 class. I feel like we are adding some depth in every position. Lusia is an undersized middle who is springy, explosive and athletic. She was our first commit for this 2024 class and has set the tone for the other recruits. She understands our culture, standard and expectations and isn't afraid to lead. Ireland comes with experience. Her volleyball IQ is high coming from her experience playing for one of the top clubs in Arizona, Arizona Storm Elite. She led her team to the state finals this year. Emery (Tigg) is a local kid that comes with so much passion. She adds depth, size and athleticism to our pins. She is graduating early, and we are excited to get her in our gym early and compete. Casidy will join us in the spring. She will bring athleticism, experience and depth in the middle. She's coming off a great career at USUE and we are excited for her to come and compete in our gym in the spring."
