(Seattle, Wash. – Oct. 22, 2023) Utah Tech women's soccer played Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 to the Seattle U Redhawks. The result officially concludes the Trailblazers' 2023 regular season with an 8-6-5 record.

Ella Weathers made her first career start as the Redhawks opened the game's scoring early, finishing in the 18
th minute to take a 1-0 lead, before doubling their lead in the 25
th. The Trailblazers looked close to cutting into that 2-0 deficit when
Michelle Rodriguez got her head on a 35
th minute corner kick, but her attempt went wide.

Brynlee Rider would have a shot blocked in the 38
th minute as the score line favored Seattle U at the halftime break.

The hosts scored the 61
st before
Ella Rusick had a shot blocked in the 64
th after finding space inside the box; SU found its fourth just one minute later.

Rider would force another Seattle U save in the 81
st minute but UT could not capitalize, falling 4-0.

Utah Tech would finish with nine shots, one of which was on goal, while taking five corner kicks and drawing nine Redhawk fouls. Weathers along with
Ella Carmody,
Gracie Knutzen,
Emily Garbett and
Mauri Ashman all went the full 90 minutes as
Michelle Rodriguez led all bench players with 61 minutes of action;
Bryanna Hofheins and
Parker LaMont combined for two saves, each playing 45 minutes.

Trailblazer women's soccer will head to Riverside, Calif., for its next game, having qualified for the 2023 WAC Women's Soccer Tournament that will be hosted by California Baptist. Details about Utah Tech's matchup will be made available once the bracket becomes finalized.
