(Orem, Utah – Oct. 19, 2023) Utah Tech women's soccer played Thursday night, falling 7-0 to the Utah Valley Wolverines at Clyde Field. The result moves Utah Tech's record to 8-5-5 with a game against Seattle U scheduled for Sunday.

Emma Carver made her first start of the season as the Trailblazers were mere inches away from taking a lead early. Off a chance from outside the box,
Emily Garbett unleashed a strike to the far post that bounced off the woodwork and out, keeping the game as a scoreless draw in the 8
th minute.

Jordyn Denton would make a save off the line in the 13
th to keep things level but UVU found its first goal in the 25
th minute after a scramble in the box off a corner kick. The Wolverines added two more in the first half and four in the second period of play as the game went final in favor of the hosts.

The Trailblazers finished Thursday's game with eight shots (one on target) and took four corner kicks in the game. Hofheins along with
Parker LaMont, who played 29 minutes in her first taste of collegiate action, combined for eight saves as Garbett (three) and
Karli Heaton (two) led the team in shots.
Lyv Heistand also made her season debut against the Wolverines.

Utah Tech returns to action on Sunday, facing Seattle U on the road. Kickoff against the Redhawks is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT.
