Utah Tech University Athletics announced on Thursday that it has entered a five-year partnership with dōTERRA to create a new nutrition center for Trailblazer student-athletes.
"This new partnership with dōTERRA is going to be a true benefit for our Trailblazer student-athletes," said UT President Dr. Richard B. Williams. "To be able to assist our student-athletes in meeting their daily nutritional needs, as well as provide them with nutrition education that they can use for the rest of their lives, is paramount. We are very thankful for dōTERRA's generosity and we are excited to partner with them."
The donation will help fund the renovation of the Habibian Athletic Center, which also houses UT's athletic weight training facility, to create the new dōTERRA Nutrition Center.
"This new nutrition center bolsters our continued commitment to the overall health and wellness of our Trailblazer student-athletes," says UT Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Ken Beazer. "We are grateful to partner with dōTERRA to provide much needed nutritional resources to our student-athletes so they can continue to hone their skills to compete at the Division I level."
In addition, dōTERRA will also help provide nutritional resources as part of an overall fueling station for Trailblazer student-athletes that they can access throughout their daily schedules.
"dōTERRA values education and has a long-standing relationship with the community in Southern Utah," said Founding Executive Mark Wolfert. "One of our core values at dōTERRA is to invest in collective impact, thereby empowering others. We strive to be good stewards by investing in education, health and wellness within the communities we serve. dōTERRA is pleased with the opportunity to share our amazing products with student athletes and to support Utah Tech as a trailblazer and leader in higher education."
Utah Tech University, which is home to 15 intercollegiate athletic programs, just completed the second year of its transition to NCAA Division I status and is a competing member of the Western Athletic Conference. This past June, the WAC's Board of Directors voted to allow UT to participate in all conference championships, beginning with the upcoming 2022-23 competition season.
