Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Trailblazers stopped by Utah Valley

Trailblazer women's basketball lost 99-59 at Utah Valley in the Old Hammer Rivalry Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened:
The Trailblazers struggled to find a rhythm to start out the game. Utah Valley had a 30-2 lead at the end of the first quarter with the Trailblazers lone points coming from a Shanaijah Davison layup.

The Trailblazers rebounded well in the second quarter, though, out-scoring the Wolverines 24-21 in the second quarter. The Blazers headed to halftime down 51-26. Davison had 11 of the team's 26 points at the halftime break.

The Wolverines and Trailblazers matched points in the third quarter each scoring 18 points but the Trailblazers were down 44-69 headed into the third quarter. The Blazers had better shot accuracy, though, out shooting Utah Valley 58% to 40%.

The Trailblazers were unable to recover the deficit in the fourth quarter when they were outscored 30-15. The Blazers would take the 99-59 loss on the road in Orem.

Comparison: Dixie State shot 37% from the field in comparison to Utah Valleys 54%. The Blazers were 9-38 from three and 8-11 on free throws. The Wolverines were 11-28 from three and 12-13 on free throws.
