Utah Tech set to host La Verne on Saturday

TIP OFF: Utah Tech women's basketball  returns home for a non-conference match up against La Verne University on Nov. 26th and Texas A&M Commerce on Dec. 3.

FAST BREAK
•  Utah Tech has a 3-2 overall record on the season and are coming off a close 92-81 loss against Kansas State.
•  The Blazers returned four starters from last year.
•  Utah Tech was picked No. 11 in the WAC preseason polls.
•  Head Coach JD Gustin is in his seventh season at the helm of the Trailblazers.

SEASON OPENERS: The Trailblazers are 9-9 in all-time season openers. Utah Tech is 7-2 when opening the season in St. George and 2-6 when opening the season on the road.  Head Coach JD Gustin is 4-3 in season openers including this year's 87-74 loss to Washington. Gustin is 3-1 in openers at home, 1-0 in openers on neutral ground and 0-2 in openers on the road.

DOUBLE DOUBLE DOWNLOAD: Breaunna Gillen leads the Trailblazers with two double-doubles on the season. She had double-doubles in back-to-back games against Washginton and Benedictine Mesa. She currently is tied at No. 1 in the WAC for most double doubles. 

Washington - 21 pts | 11 asst.
Benedtine Mesa  -17 pts | 10 asst.

Only one other Blazer has recorded a double double this season in Emily Isaacson's 12 point, 12 rebound performance against Benedictine Mesa.

HOME SWEET HOME: Since joining the NCAA ranks in 2006-07, Utah Tech has played to a 123-66 (.650) overall record in the Burns Arena. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, UT is 44-33 (.571) at home which includes the 2-0 record this season.
      
ON THE DUSTY TRAIL: Utah Tech has a 75-112 (.401) record on the road since joining the NCAA in 2006-07. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, the Blazers are 22-45 (.328) on the road. The Trailblazers are currently 1-2 on the road this year.

IN THE BOOKS: Several Trailblazers have made their way into the record books with their performances so far this season.

Breaunna Gillen just broke into the top 10 in all-time scorers in school history with 672 total points. She sits at No. 7 in all time career field goals made with 263 and No. 8 in percentage with a .451. Gillen also sits at No. 4 in school history total career assists 230.

TWO-TIME WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gillen was named WAC Player of the week again after the second week of action. She already won the title for the first week of the season when she recorded a double double against PAC-12 foe, Washginton with 21 points and 11 assists and again against Benedictine Mesa, Gillen recorded another double double with 17 points and 10 assists.

Last week, Gillen helped UT to a 2-1 record with wins over Utah State and Kansas City. She averaged 24.7 points and shot .571 from the field. She shot .833 from the free throw line going 15-18. She ended the week averaging 5.3 assists and four rebounds per game.

Gillen posted 26 points against Utah State for a new career high. Additionally, Gillen had 23 points against Big XI competition Kansas State.
