Utah Tech men's soccer were stopped by the San Jose State Spartans 2-0 at home on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED: From the start of the match it was a physical one between the Spartans and the Trailblazers. It took less than two minutes for the first foul to be drawn.Â
Just eight minutes into the game the Spartans were able to find a breakthrough. Herminio Padilla was able to slalom through the top of the Trailblazer 18-yard box and sent home the left-footed shot past Jacob Zimmerman.
The rest of the half continued to be physical from both sides as both teams were pressing to find a goal.
In the dying moments of the half defender Traedon Chamberlain was shown yellow for a foul on Joel Garcia. Additionally, Garcia and Chambers were shown yellow after the half-time whistle was blown.
Out of the break the Trailblazers were looking to come back from the 1-0 deficit. In the 62nd minute Jimi Villasenor nearly found the answer. After working his way up the field, Villasenor let a world-class shot go from atop the 18-yard box but his attempt rang off the crossbar and out of play.Â
In the 81st minute Angel Iniguez put in a second goal for the Spartans.Â
Despite making a slew of offensive minded subs in the final 10 minutes of play, none of the Trailblazers were able to find the back of the net and the Spartans would head home with a 2-0 victory on the day.Â

Guglielmo Bianchi and
