Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Dixie State narrowly falls 68-65 to Utah Valley

Dixie State women's basketball battled until the final seconds but came away with a 68-65 loss in the Old Hammer Rivalry against Utah Valley.

What Head Coach JD Gustin said: We're running at 40% of what we're capable of. And that's encouraging because we can only get better. We played a very average first half to a great team and we're only down by seven. We settled better in the second half and attacked our game plan and it took us right to the end. Utah Valley is a well coached team and that was a competitive game.

Big Moves: Shanaijah Davison put up 11 points in the first five minutes of the game.  In the fourth quarter, the Trailblazers went on a 14-0 run and held Utah Valley to a four minute scoring drought. Emily Isaacson went off for 11 points in the fourth quarter. Dixie ended the fourth quarter outscoring UVU 20-10.
