The Dixie State women's tennis team ended their road trip Sunday morning with a loss to Boise State University, falling 7-0 in Salt Lake City.
Â
Boise State started the day off strong by sweeping the Trailblazers in doubles play and claiming the first point of the match. The Broncos kept the strong play up heading into singles play by quickly claiming the No. 2 through No. 5 spots to clinch the match. However,
Kyra Harames and
Rachel Mellor battled in the No. 1 and No. 6 spots for Dixie State. Harames fought hard but played to 3-6 losses in both of her sets, this ended a good weekend of play from the senior. Mellor dominated her first set of singles play, taking the win 6-1. She continued her strong play into the second set but fell short, dropping it 6-7. The freshman then played to a 7-10 loss in a tiebreaker to end the match and four-day road trip for the Trailblazers.
