Trailblazers Fall at PAC-12 Leader Colorado Friday

Dixie State University women's basketball dropped a 53-78 loss on their second straight road match to Colorado University.

How it Happened: The Trailblazers started out strong matching points with Colorado to a 4-4 scoreline. The Buffalo then went on a nine point scoring streak and got a lead the Trailblazers went to the end of the first half 10-19. 

Through the second quarter the Trailblazers shots just weren't falling. They were outscored 15-8 in the second quarter.

Out of the halftime break the Trailblazers came out a different team in the second half. They scored 20 points in the third quarter and drew the score back within 20 points but the Buffalo just didn't let up on their offense. Back to back Trailblazer three's from Emily Isaacon and Maddie Warren brought the Trailblazers back within 13 points and that was the closest the Trailblazers got back to the Buffalo.

The Trailblazers closed out the fourth quarter with a 15 point quarter but it was not enough to bring the score any closer and the Blazers would fall 78-53 on the road against the Pac12 leading Colorado University.

Leaders: Dixie State was led by Breaunna Gillen who earned 14 points. She went 6-14 from the field. Gillen also led the way in assists with four on the day.  Warren also notched four assists on the night.

Isaacson was the Trailblazers top rebounder with 5 boards. Warren was lockdown defensively with four defensive rebounds.
 
Comparison: Dixie State ended the night shooting 38% from the field, 33% from the three and 71.4% from the free throw line. The Trailblazers totaled 23 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and 20 turnovers. 

Colorado shot 52% from the field, 25% from the three and 78% from the line. The Aggies totaled 40 rebounds, 17 assists, eight steals and 13 turnovers. 

Notes to Know: DSU is now 2-5 overall on the season.
