Dixie State swimming wrapped up the final night of competition as hosts of the 2021 Trailblazer Invitational with two more school record performances on Saturday night at the DSU HPC Pool.

The Trailblazers wasted little time making a splash in the evening session as freshman
Paulina Sansores shattered her own school record in the first event of the night, the 1650-yard freestyle, by more than 18 seconds when she touched the wall in fourth-place overall with a time of 17:14.66.

Fellow freshman
Ally Boynton followed suit in the next event with her second school record swim in as many nights as she won the "C" final of the 200 backstroke with a 2:02.98. In fact, DSU went 1-2 in that race as sophomore
Akalia Bostock posted the second-fastest 200 back time in school history with a runner-up 2:03.78.

DSU collected two more race wins on the night as sophomore
Madelyne Moulton won the "D" final of the 200 breaststroke (2:24.55), and senior
Alaina Otterstrom touched the wall first in the "D" final of the 200 butterfly in 2:10.49 (#7 all-time at DSU).

Then in the final event of the meet, the 400 free relay, the team of Bostock, junior
Kyrie Nicolds, sophomore
Gabbie Adams and freshman
Talia Thomas posted the sixth-fastest relay time in program history with a 12
th-place 3:31.49.

Dixie State will kick-off the New Year with a double-dual meet featuring the Trailblazers, Northern Colorado, and host Air Force on Jan. 7-8, in Colorado Springs, Colo.Â
