OPENING TOUCH: Dixie State men's soccer heads on the road for their final two conference matches of the 2021 season. They'll head to Colorado to face Air Force before a Sunday matchup with the current conference leaders Grand Canyon.

TRANSITIONING INTO THE WAC: Dixie State enters its second season of Division I play as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. Dixie State is scheduled to play an 18-game schedule including eight non-conference games and 10 conference games.
DIXIE STATE VS. AIR FORCE: Dixie State men's soccer has faced Air Force one time in it's history. The match was Feb. 6, 2021 and DSU lost by a score of 4-0 at Greater Zion Stadium.
DIXIE STATE VS GRAND CANYON: Dixie State has a long history with Grand Canyon. These two teams have faced off 11 times in school history and DSU has a 2-9 record against the Lopes. DSU's two wins came on Sept. 17, 2011 by a score of 1-0 and Oct. 21, 2008 by another 1-0 scoreline. The last times these two teams faced each other Grand Canyon won 5-1 on March 26, 2021. That was these schools first matchup since 2012.

AIR FORCE:
Air Force is currently 6-5-1 on the season. They sit second place in the Western Athletic Conference and are undefeated at home in conference play. Their only conference loss this season came last week at Seattle U by a 2-1 scoreline. Air Force has scored 27 goals this season and allowed 20. They have just two shutouts this season.
Air Force's leading scorer is Tristan Trager who has nine goals and four assists this season. Their next leading scorer is Lathan Spadafora who has four. Air Force has seen goals scored from 11 different members of their team so far this season.
GRAND CANYON: 
Grand Canyon is currently 10-2 on the season. Their two losses came in a 2-1 loss at San Jose State and a 2-0 loss at No. 5 Washington. The Lopes have scored 29 goals in 12 games in the 2021 season. They have only allowed 11 goals in those 12 games. Grand Canyon is undefeated at home in the 2021 season.
Grand Canyon currently leads the way in the WAC conference standings steadily in first place. They have two players, Justin Rasmussen and Shaun Joash with five goals apiece this season. They also have two players with four goals apiece this season. Additionally, the Lopes have four shutouts on the season.
COACHING STAFF: Jonny Broadhead (Colorado State-Pueblo, 2004) is in his fourth season as Dixie State head coach. Broadhead has a 35-38-4 overall record at Dixie State. He has led the program to 10 or more wins in two of his three seasons at the helm.

Nick Vorberg who are both in their first seasons with DSU. 
TRAILBLAZERS PICKED TENTH IN THE WAC: Dixie State was voted to finish 10th in the WAC men's soccer preseason coaches' poll released on August 17th. Grand Canyon was picked first with six first place votes. Seattle U was picked second with four first place votes. The Trailblazers did not have any members selected to the 2021 Preseason All-WAC team.
LAST SEASON IN THE WAC: The 2020-21 season was the first season the Trailblazers competed in the WAC. The 2020-21 season faced many cancellations and games rescheduled due to COVID-19. The Trailblazers closed the 2020-21 regular season with a 3-6-0 record. DSU's three wins in the 2020-21 season came against Incarnate Word, Houston Baptist and UTRGV, all except the win over Houston Baptist were on the road.
TEAM NOTES: Dixie State is 2-10-1 this season. Their two wins came in 1-0 scorelines over UC San Diego and Houston Baptist.
Dixie State has scored eight goals this season.

Idris Alabi lead the team in goals scored with two apiece. Alabi scored both of his goals this season against California Baptist on Oct. 16.
