Trailblazers women soccer came away with a 4-0 loss to Utah Valley Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Utah Valley was able to get a goal in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead. Dixie State wasn't able to get a single shot off before Utah Valley scored a second goal in the 26th minute for a 2-0 lead.
In the first half, DSU only had one shot while UVU had nine shots with five on goal.
As the second half started Dixie State controlled the momentum playing consistently on the attack. However, in the 64th minute Utah Valley was able to get another goal to push their lead to 3-0.
Utah Valley was able to get one more goal before the time ran out to walk away with 4-0 win over Dixie State.
STAT BREAKDOWN: Dixie State was led by
Emily Garbett who had two shots.
Shaylynn Uyeshiro had one shot and DSU's one shot on goal.
The Trailblazers had five total shots with one on goal. While Utah Valley had 20 shots with 10 on goal.
Hollee Hercik started in the net and played the full 90 minutes in the game. She came away with six saves.
NOTES TO KNOW: Dixie State is now 4-11-1 overall on the season and 0-5-1 in WAC action.
UP NEXT: The Trailblazers will return home Oct. 21 to take on California Baptist for Senior Day before taking on Seattle Oct. 23 in the final home game of the season.
