Grace McLaughlin named WAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Dixie State sophomore Grace McLaughlin has been named Western Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

McLaughlin won the 4K race at the Southern Utah Color Country Invitational on Saturday with a personal-best time of 14:58.3 to help the Trailblazers to a second-place team finish. McLaughlin, who outpaced runners from Southern Utah and Utah Valley to claim her first collegiate win, also became just the fourth DSU women's cross country runner to cross the finish line in first place.

The Trailblazers will head to Riverside, California, this week for the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational in the final race before the WAC Championships on October 30.
