SWIM - Trailblazers Earn CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America Award

Dixie State's women's swimming program on Tuesday collected College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors for its overall efforts in the classroom this past 2020 spring semester.

The Trailblazers combined to post a 3.545 team GPA last semester, while DSU was one of five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams to make the list. In all, 789 teams representing 461 institution across the country at the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA levels were selected for the award.

"No team was unaffected by this spring's [COVID 19] pandemic, but DSU Athletic Director Dr. Jason Boothe and DSU Provost Dr. Michael Lacourse can and should be proud of their team and the work of [DSU Head Coach] Tamber McAllister and her student-athletes," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart.

To earn the CSCAA honor, teams are required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes. Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
