Four-Time U.S Olympian Logan Tom Visits Trailblazer Volleyball Practice

The Dixie State University women's volleyball program was paid a visit by four-time United States Olympic Volleyball player Logan Tom during the team's practice this past Thursday morning at the DSU SAC.

During her visit with the team, Tom held a question and answer session with the Trailblazer players and coaches. Among the things she told the team heading into the 2021 season was to kVolleyball_LoganTom-CoachFeldernow who you are as players and what you each are capable of, and to always strive to "raise the bar."

"It was such an honor to have an such an elite athlete and role model here to speak to my team," DSU Head Coach Robyn Felder said. "Logan has played at the highest level of college, Olympic, and international volleyball and has won every award on the way!

"Her feedback to the girls was so honest – 'Work harder than anyone else, be smart with the ball, and always being aggressive,'" Felder added. "The girls were in awe, and honestly so was I. A four-time Olympian and still playing at the age of 39, Logan is absolutely insane! Logan is probably one of the greatest volleyball players to have played the game and we are so grateful to have had her in our gym!"

A native of Salt Lake City, Tom played collegiately at Stanford from 1999-2002. At the age of 19, she became the youngest woman ever to be selected to the U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team, and she made her Olympic debut at the 2000 Sydney Summer Games. Tom played in four Olympics and helped lead the American side to a pair of Silver Medals in the 2008 Games in Beijing, and in 2012 in London. Tom has also played in several other FIVB World Cups and other international competitions.

"It was such a cool experience being able to have Logan in our gym," said senior right side hitter and setter Megan Treanor. "Being able to get insight from someone who has played at every level was a privilege and an honor. I've looked up to her and learned a lot about mental toughness and how to be a better athlete and person."
