Robyn Felder

Three-time conference Coach of the Year Robyn Felder is in her ninth season as the head coach of the Dixie State volleyball program. Over her tenure on the Trailblazer sideline, Felder has led DSU to a 137-84 (.620) overall record to go with two conference championships and four NCAA tournament appearances. Last season Felder led Dixie State to a 20-8 overall record, her third 20-plus win campaign as DSU mentor, and to a third-place 14-4 finish in the program's final Division II season and as a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

In 2018, Felder was named RMAC co-Coach of the Year after she guided the Trailblazers to a school NCAA-era record tying 22 victories (22-6) and claimed a share of the RMAC regular season championship (16-2) in the program’s debut in the league. Dixie State also made its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in 13 years of four-year competition and was the 2018 NCAA Statistical National Champion in blocks per set (2.95 bps).

In addition, two of her players off that 2018 squad, Megan Treanor and Lauren Gammell, became the first two All-Americans in the program’s NCAA era. Treanor claimed AVCA second team All-America honors, while Gammell, who led the nation in blocks per set (1.56 bps), collected D2CCA third team and AVCA honorable mention All-America accolades.

In 2015, Felder led the Trailblazers to their first-ever PacWest Conference title and the program’s third-straight NCAA West Regional appearance. In addition, five Trailblazers earned all-PacWest honors and Felder was named Conference Coach of the Year.

The season before she led DSU to its most successful season in the program’s Division II era. The Trailblazers played to a school record 22 victories (22-9 overall record), which marked the first time Dixie State had reached 20-plus wins in a season since its first year of NCAA play in 2006. DSU also finished second in the PacWest Conference with a 17-3 league mark and had six players earn all-conference honors.

That performance earned DSU their second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, where the team advanced all the way to the West Regional final (Sweet 16). Dixie State’s tourney run included consecutive 3-1 victories over the West’s Overall No. 1 Seed Northwest Nazarene in the opening round, and then a night later vs. PacWest rival and national power BYU-Hawai’i in the second round.

In 2013, Dixie State finished the year with a 17-10 mark and made its first NCAA postseason appearance with a selection to the West Regionals. Felder was named 2013 Pacific West Conference Co-Coach of the Year and the 2013 squad had three All-PacWest players.

Prior to her arrival to Dixie State, Felder served as the Director of the Southern Utah Volleyball Academy, and assisted with running the SUVA program for seven years.

Before her time with the SUVA, she was the head varsity volleyball coach at the Calhoun Academy in South Carolina for two years. She also served as a graduate assistant coach under head coach Wade Benson at Eastern Washington University.

During her playing career at Eastern Washington, she was a two-time first team all-Big Sky Conference selection, was named Newcomer of the Year and was an Academic All-American. She helped lead the Eagles to the 2001 Big Sky title and to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to EWU, she was an NJCAA First Team All-American as an outside hitter at Ricks College in 1998-99. She and her husband Chris are the parents of three children, Brock, Paige and Wyatt.
